FAQs

What types of clients do you work with?

I work with children through young adults (ages 5 through 25). My areas of expertise include oppositional and defiant behavior, trauma, anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns that significantly impact day-to-day functioning. In addition to individual therapy, I also provide parent consultation, as well as school-based consultation and training to support collaborative care across environments.

What services do you offer?

I provide individual therapy for children, teens, and young adults (ages 5–25), as well as parent consultation and school-based support. Sessions are offered in a variety of formats—office-based, nature-based, and virtual—to best meet your family's needs.

For families seeking more comprehensive support, I offer a unique Comprehensive Care Plan: a personalized membership program that includes therapy sessions, regular parent consultations, and active collaboration with your child’s care team. Together, we build a seamless support system to help your child thrive emotionally, behaviorally, and socially—while empowering your whole family every step of the way.

Insurance & Reimbursement

I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not participate directly in insurance plans and have opted out of Medicare. However, I offer multiple service options—including individual session rates and a membership plan—so you can choose what best fits your family’s needs.

I also provide a detailed superbill (receipt) for each session that includes all the information required to submit for insurance reimbursement if your plan includes out-of-network benefits. Many PPO plans cover a portion of these services, and HSA/FSA funds can also be used to pay with pre-tax dollars.

If you're unsure about your coverage, I'm happy to guide you through the process of checking with your insurance provider.

Why should I choose an Out-of-Network Provider?

Working with an out-of-network provider like See the Strengths means you receive personalized, flexible care—without the limitations that insurance companies often place on session frequency, length, or approach.

You’ll benefit from:

  • More individualized attention

  • Greater privacy and confidentiality

  • Transparent pricing with no surprise bills

  • The freedom to pursue what’s truly best for your child

How can I prepare my child for therapy?

Start by letting your child know that therapy is a safe space where they can talk, play, and get support with things that might feel hard. Use simple, reassuring language—such as, “You’ll have someone to talk to who helps kids with their thoughts and feelings.” Emphasize that there’s no judgment, and that therapy is about helping them feel better and stronger. If your child has questions, answer honestly and calmly, and let them know you're in this together.

What if I’m not sure what kind of help my child needs?

That’s completely okay—and very common. You don’t need to have all the answers before reaching out. Part of my role is to help you better understand what your child might be experiencing and determine the type of support that would be most helpful. We’ll start with a conversation to explore your concerns, and from there, I’ll guide you toward a plan that feels right for your child and family.
